Dessert-Pineapple Cake

My daddy loved pineapple upside down cake. This isn't an upside down cake, but pineapple. It is an old recipe that I discovered this morning in the recipes I have collected.
PINEAPPLE CAKE
1-No. 2 can crushed pineapple
1-1/2 cups sugar
2-1/2 cups self-rising flour
1/4 tsp. salt
Mix with spoon. Put in greased and floured oblong pan. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
Icing:
2 cups sugar
1 stick oleo
1 small can milk or 1/2 cup milk
1 small can coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
Few Nuts (if desired)
Bring to boil for 4 minutes. Punch holes in cake and pour icing on while hot.
