CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon water
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (12) ounce) package chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Mix in vanilla and water. Mix dry ingredients, and add to sugar-butter mixture. Mix well, but do not over beat. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls or larger onto lightly greased or sprayed cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 to 15 minutes. If you like soft cookies, cook for 2 to 3 minutes less.
